I was only vaguely aware of his work, but he’s an interesting and funny guy with some good ideas. I agree with him on online anonymity. I always use my real name because I think it’s a sign of sincerity, and also that you’re prepared to take any criticism and hopefully respond in good faith rather than slinking off and hiding behind another alias. I don’t even mind being accused of being pedantic, like pointing out that they didn’t have the guillotine in Henry VIII’s time. It’s associated with the French Revolution a couple of centuries later.
